Created by Tom and Devin of Hip.Bang! (Surveil, Just For Laughs), Haida storyteller Patrick Shannon (Supernaturals, InnoNative) and director Marie Farsi (Dora Award winner, Best Director).
HOME is a funny, heartfelt, and deeply moving exploration of what it means to belong—to a place, a community, and a world that’s rapidly changing. Through humor and raw emotion, the play takes audiences on a journey that will leave them laughing, crying, and reflecting on the places they hold dear. While it doesn’t shy away from the realities of climate change, HOME is ultimately a story of resilience, connection, and the enduring power of hope.
Told through three interwoven stories, HOME offers distinct yet connected perspectives on belonging. Devin reckons with the wildfires that have transformed his childhood home in the Okanagan. Tom, a new father, uses improvisation and audience interaction to explore an uncertain future shaped by climate change. Patrick’s story, set on Haida Gwaii, brings an Indigenous perspective, showing how his people have adapted to environmental shifts for thousands of years. Together, these stories create a powerful, deeply personal reflection on what it means to call a place home when everything is changing.
What sets HOME apart is its audience-driven storytelling—no two performances are the same. Real stories, gathered through pre-show surveys and video interviews, are woven into each show, making every performance a unique and shared experience. After premiering at The Cultch in Vancouver, HOME earned critical acclaim at the Edmonton Fringe Festival (2024), where it invited for a prestigious holdover show following the festival.
